Hawawshi with bread
Ingredients
- Lamb: 500 grams (finely chopped)
- Onion: 2 pieces (finely chopped)
- - White vinegar: 2 tbsp
- - Vegetable oil: 2 tablespoons (and an additional amount to grease loaves)
- - Salt: one and a half teaspoons
- - Black pepper: teaspoon
- Spices: a teaspoon and a half (mixed Arabic spices)
- Arabic bread: 5 loaves
Directions
- Put the meat, onion and vinegar in a bowl, add salt, black pepper and Arabic spices, and mix until combined.
- Form balls from the meat mixture and place them on a plate.
- Open the loaf of bread and roll out a ball of meat mixture inside it, then repeat the process until the quantity is finished.
- Brush the top of the loaves with vegetable oil, wrap each loaf in parchment paper and place in an oven tray.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C, then put the tray in the oven for 30 minutes until the hawawshi is cooked and served hot.
